Which Couriers Take Unboxed Tyres ?
Discussion
I've sold my old tyres as I've upgraded.
The new ones came via UPS and as always, were wrapped in shrinkwrap
However when I try to book a courier they are all insisting that tyres have to be boxed - including UPS
Does anyone know which Couriers take unboxed tyres ?
I asked the UPS guy and he said he collects and delivers loads of unboxed tyres but admits that the policy is to box them
When you book they state unboxed tyres may incur an extra charge (circa £20ea)

If you can strap them together with same good pallet strapping and display the label good enough so that it wont fall off then most will take them
That's what I've done in the past but a quick google finds:Additional handling costs are exclusive to UPS. They are incurred when the courier has to handle an item manually, either due to its size or its packaging. Additional handling charges can be issued for the following reasons:
Reason Provided:
Not encased in cardboard OR Any cylindrical item not packaged in a cardboard box (a tyre or a barrel, for example)
Bearing in mind my new tyres were delivered by UPS
