Zero torsion on rubber bushes at normal load?
Discussion
I was helping a relative change the front suspension upper arms and anti-roll bar links on a VW Passat (B5.5). It occurred to me afterwards that it might have made sense to tighten the clamp bolts on the rubber bushes when the arms are in their 'weight on wheels' position, rather than with the car jacked up and wheels off, as the rubber would then be less stressed in normal use.
Any thoughts?
