Afternoon

Hoping theres another mk5 owner out there or any advice really.

So my MK5 seems to be making a groaning noise when say you drive slowly and turn the steering wheel i.e. driving from a drive or reversing into a parking space etc. The noise seems to be coming from the front left. Its starting to wind me up as the car passed its MOT recently all ok, I've changed both top mounts, left spring (other was done earlier in year) and both front shocks.

The only other thing i can think of is that my drop links have gone kaput even though I had these changed in January so if thats the case I'd be cheesed but ok.

As I said, the garage I took it too say everything underneath is sound, but the noise just doesnt sound right. Sounds like when the Titanic was sinking in the movie, a deep groan. Im thinking of taking it to another garage and just ask if they can locate the noise.

Does anyone else have any ideas where to look

Much appreciated

Not really worked on that particular car but have you checked the power steering fluid? Always groans if running low.

Oh yeah forgot to say, power steering resevoir is full.

Its such a weird noise. Garage says everything is fine but its such an audible groan. Thought it was the top mounts at first but got them replaced so god knows now.
