This is a 2006 Honda Jazz (petrol auto). Should these front brake discs be replaced? The braking surface is 21mm thick, the minimum is 19mm. Are they too rusty? Some of the rust can be scratched off with a fingernail.
The discs are at least 20,000 miles and at least six years old.

Thanks.

They look fine to me. Wire brush / chip off the loose rust.

There is no need to replace those but I’d do it anyway because discs are cheap

As above clean up with wire brush, good for another 6 years.

Thanks. I'll replace the discs when the pads need doing.

They're probably good for another 20k..

Make sure the center spigot is clean before you refit the wheels. With all the loose rust about it'd be easy to get dirt trapped under there.

At 21mm plenty of life left, and if inner face is as good as the outer, then they're pretty good in general.

I have seen 1 year old discs look much worse than that, the surface looks very good & smooth with no ridges to speak of, if you are worried about the lip of rust at the edge, a quick dress up with a file will help come pad change time, but no, they are good.

If there's no juddering and thickness is within manufacturers limit ,I'd leave those discs on the car.
