Steering wheel wobble on braking
Discussion
I have a (new to me) 62 plate Mondeo estate. I get a wobble on the steering wheel when braking - small but noticeable at slow speeds; very noticeable at higher speeds.
The car brakes true (ie there is no drift) and the wobble is only through the steering wheel, not the brake pedal.
The car was fully serviced before I received it, and no problems were noted. I've subsequently had the car checked (during course of which a cracked track rod end was discovered and replaced), the suspension checked, and the wheels balanced, but to no avail - wobble continues.
The garage is suggesting looking at the discs, but before I hand over any more money, I wondered whether anyone might have any ideas?
Thanks

Warped front discs.
There'll be someone along shortly to say that discs don't warp. They absolutely can, but there are just as many other potential causes of the wobble related to discs.I recently binned a year-old set of front discs on my XF because they were pitted due to corrosion. The effect was pulsating through the steering. I'd heard that the OEM material wasn't great quality and it turns out it was true.
Changed them for Delphi coated ones and so far so good. Truth is discs are so cheap now that it often isn't much more expensive to change discs and pads together as a matter of routine.
