So you can mill up adapters for others....but it isnt an option....

But you're looking for another option.....that really doesnt make any sense.

Of course you can use any calipers you wish that fall into the same dimensions. So shop around for others that are the same dimensions. There are various caliper makers.

But the AP's probably arent that overpriced, and often they are among the lightest and will be good quality. A lot of cheaper stuff...well, they're cheaper for a reason

So realistically, how much do you think you're going to save ?

You haven't stated the purpose, or application....or indeed if anything "better" or worse is needed. That you may pay more or less for.

AP make good stuff. A lot of cheaper stuff as said, is cheaper for a reason. Usually heavier, lesser quality, more bulky. When you compare theirs to cheaper brands....the cost difference really isnt that much.

I would agree that often their own racing discs are not ideal for how people use them, and cheaper discs are a better alternative. Their racing discs seem to corrode easily and are not well suited to road cars. And when used with aggressive pads, that combo can be horrific for dust.

Of course other makes will copy AP's fitments...AP are one of the leaders, others with copies follow.

But if you feel application is irrelevant, then it's questionable whether you're qualified to make any judgements as to suitability.

Good luck.

So if others have copied and there is an matching size caliper out there then please illuminate me as to who supplies it. That's the crux of the entire query.

My application of the product is irrelevant to others.
In the same vein, if you personally want to buy some nice pink knickers then it's not for me to be concerned as to how you use them or whether you wear them or not! Although can propbably get someone to advise you on where they're available from.
The products suitability for my application is relevant but only to me - likewise your pink knickers.

I guess 35 years an engineer and 22 years in motorsport qualifies me as a numpty.
Hey ho!

At least there are some people on this forum who are nice and helpful.

Thanks Mike for you PM.
I will consider both alternatives accordingly.
