Bit of an oddball question. I'm fitting some 380mm x 30mm rear discs on my car, i'm looking for a suitable 4 piston brake caliper to fit this disc. I'd prefer to use a caliper designed for a 30mm disc rather than a 32mm disc which is much more commonly found. It needs to be off a car with a similar size brake disc so the pad shape has a chance of being right.

The Nissan GTR uses 380mm x 30mm rear brakes so would be perfect but the calipers are hard to come by and expensive. Are there any other options anyone knows of? Alternatively, are there any databases of brake disc sizes on any websites anyone has seen? I'm struggling to find sizes for lots of cars.

There's a lot of knowledge on here so thought it's worth an ask.

My 308 GT200 (mk1 308) used 340x30 discs in the front. Same size used by the 3l diesel 407s but with a different bolt number.
The 2.7 and 3.0 petrol 407s used 330x30 in the front.

MY 330i with M-sport brakes has 370x30 at the front.

If you look up a certain disc reference number on Brembo's website for example, you can usually find where else that particular one is used.

You realise that the difference equates to a piston movement of 1mm. per side?

In other words, any caliper that is designed to work with a 32mm. thick disc will work perfectly happily with a 30mm. thick one.

I realise that but if I'm buying a pair of calipers I'd rather get some designed to run a 30mm disc if there is a suitable option out there.

Thanks. Looking on ebay the Pug calipers look like single piston sliding ones. I am aware of a few BMW's using 30mm discs but I'm not a fan of their calipers.

Correct, the Pugs had single piston sliding ones. The 406 Coupes had 4pots but they were using 28mm discs.

I was going to say "Big ones!" but people got in there first with sensible answers!

BMW M2 (and M3/M4) use that size on the front, not sure if this helps?

You also going to have problems with the handbrake assuming it's cable operated unless the cable mounting point is it the same are and same end fitting

Are you putting larger rear brakes in?
If so have you thought about the front to rear brake balance?

It's the rear brakes I'm taking about. The fronts are 380x34. I've got a caliper sorted for them. Having spoken to someone who runs a similar setup on a track car with ABS retained I should have no issues.

My handbrake is cable operated and sits inside the middle of the disc. I plan to retain this setup.
