Adjustable links and roll bar - Preload?
Discussion
So some confusions and contradicting info on preload I've heard so hopefully someone can clear something up.
Car is a mk5 golf gti, suspension is stock bar the installation of a rear adjustable whiteline anti roll bar and rear adjustable whiteline drop links.
So installed the roll bar and tightened the clamps up when at ride height ( its worth noting that the roll bar can Rotate in these poly bushes clamps until tied to the links so is not "set" in its position but is set in its left-to-right position if that makes sense). I then installed the drop links to the suspension arms, after setting back to ride height next I slotted the links into the anti roll bar then on both sides. Then bolted them both down. The adjustable spindle on the links which increases/decreases their length at a certain position at a certain length is very loose feeling as if there is no tension in it at all, my own made-up man logic makes me think this is the right spot to alleviate preload.
Yes I know I've done no actual measuring of the links etc... car will be corner weighted proffesionally in couple months when coilovers gone on as well so they will sort any preload mess I've left behind but for my own learning what should I have done or what should I go back and do to ensure there is no preload?
Cheers!
