I'm not sure where to post this, so I thought here!

I'm a nerd and I'm responsible for making sure my wider family motoring needs are met, from purchase to basic maintenance. If someone has a flat tyre, they call me rather than the AA/RAC - I sleep with one eye on the phone in my hi-viz vest at all times. biggrin Also I'm not a true professional as I do not have a 4x4 for rapid response, although I would be confident in clearing the local park for air ambulances to land.

I have three space saver spares - a 15 inch 4 stud , a 16 inch 5 stud with 57mm centre bore and a17 inch 5 stud with a 67mm centre bore, along with some spigot rings so most bases are covered along with various jacks, wrenches and breaker bar.

What I really wanted was a portable cordless tyre inflator. Most of the tool companies, Milwaukee, Ryobi, Makita, Bosch etc do them but they are rather large and bare units so you have to buy the battery and charger which can double the price. I'm a basic DIYer and happy with my Lidl Parkside and Aldi Ferrex tools. The other problem is that most of the Chineseum inflators at around £30 use cheap NiMh batteries which discharge when left in the boot of the car, so when you need to use it, it's useless, so I wanted a Lithium Ion unit. So all my research let me to this:

It's a Sealey CTI 120 Cordless Tyre Inflator. I bought my first one in Oct 2020 for £30.85 after a carpart4less misprice. My second one I purchased for £37.46 with a 25% off eBay promotion. The first unit has been properly abused and it still has a long battery life. Here are some pros and cons:

Pros
Small form factor, decent quality plastic body, lithium ion and has never run out on me... yet, led light when inflating in the dark, allows you to inflate in psi, bar or kpa, can be used as a mobile phone charger, charged via microUSB cable so you can charge it in the car, inflation setting to autostop at correct pressure, accurate - bang on with my 2 ITC gauges and Halfords gauge, no noisier than the normal plug in electric inflators.

Cons
Short hose means you have to bend over and hold it when inflating which can mean for 5+ minutes if the tyre is flat/low, screw on connector means a little more phaff when checking pressures.

It's used every weekend for checking my own vehicles. It's inflated 3 van tyres from flat. There was one time when I inflated a 4 tyres from low teens psi to 35 psi, didn't charge it, then the next day when we had a family gathering and I went outside and topped up 12 cars without the battery running out of juice. The portability means it's available for inflating footballs, although it's average at stuff like large volume beach toys/dinghies and I've even taken it into a nuclear bunker to inflate the tyres on a wheelbarrow. So I've used it for over a year, liked it so much that I've bought another one!
