I replaced a brake fitting and section of pipe. I've used a vacuum bleeding tool which i have used many times before. The pedal is floppy till about halfway down and then you can feel resistance. I'm guessing that the master cylinder has stuck, could it be anything else?

You probably have an air pocket in the circuit.

If the change in the pedal feel is very sudden, that might the result of a tandem brake master cylinder running out of travel on the affected circuit. That doesn't necessarily mean the problem is in the master cylinder - it could be anywhere in that affected circuit. Pressure bleeding via the pedal might be more effective at highlighting where the problem is. Presumably one or more wheel cylinders will suddenly see much more pressure when the pedal feel changes - this would suggest the problem is affecting the circuit to those other cylinders.
