Yaris 2008 ( 70,000 miles )

Few months ago car developed a popping sound when sat inside the car, whilst going over small bumps such as drain covers. Never thought much of it, but decided to investigate recently.

Sounds like it's coming from the corner of the car ( infront of drivers side around where the tweeter is )
Spent hours trying to find the culprit with no luck. So today I took the A pillar off, drove around, and the noise continued.

All loose cabling has been tidied up behind the A Pillar, lots of anti-rattle tape etc.
Nothing is loose whatsoever around that area, so that leads me to believe it's the spring on the drivers side.

I think the springs are stock, so have never been changed. They are rusty, but I wouldn't say corroded ( I can only have a brief look from near where the wheel is )

When I was new to driving I did come off some curbs at a bad angle and in the process damaged the under-tray and the bumper protector ( now has been fixed )
Also. I go up lots of bumps every day due to where I live.

Does this sound like a problem from the springs in you guys opinion or not ?
The Arm Pin/Bush was replaced shortly after getting an advisory at the MOT 6 months ago
Thanks

You need to be a bit more specific about that.

What you describe sounds like a strut top or an Anti Roll bar bush with wear, ideally you need to get under the car when it is supported properly with a pry-bar to try to locate where there is any play.

"Offside Front Suspension arm pin or bush worn but not resulting in excessive movement"

I'm booked in with the mechanic next week for the springs to be replaced, hopefully they can find the culprit
will also get the bearing in the strut mounts replaced too

I've been looking at " top mounts " for the strut/shock absorber and some come with bearings, some don't. Why is this ?

I don't think it's the bearings themselves as steering is smooth with no noises.
