Tonight when driving home the tyre pressure warning light beeped on my 66 plate Mazda CX5. After pulling over all tyres appeared OK and after checking at the garage 2 mins later all had correct psi.
The alloy on the rear offside however was red hot. All other alloys cool. I re-set the tyre pressure monitor which is now not showing on display and 10 minutes later when home the alloy had started to cool.

Any ideas much appreciated

From what you've said I'd be taking it as an early warning sign something is not right with that offside rear hub/brake. You might want to get it looked at.

Agreed. The back brakes get little use and can get crudded up (technical term).

If it's got hot enough to be so obvious at the wheel then there's a significant risk that it has damaged the bearings. Once you melt the grease out of them you can expect them to fail quite quickly.
