Hi all.

My car has a space save spare.

I have a spare full size matching wheel for my car (due to damage, repair and refurb processes unrelated).

Is there such a thing as a non directional tyre? I'm thinking if I can find one then I can use it as the spare and get rid of the useless pizza cutter spare.

Tyre size is 225/50R17

I'd be very nervous about fitting a "normal" directional tyre as that gives a 50/50 chance of actually getting the right usage. Fitting a tyre the wrong way round could be a nightmare as the tyre could force the water into the tread and cause aquaplaning. Accident, police, uninsured etc.

Most car tyres are asymmetric and are not directional.

As long as asymmetrical tyres are fitted on the rim the correct way round they can be used on any corner of the car.
