Does Banjo Crush Washer OD Matter?
Discussion
I had to replace the brake calipers on my race car today and one of the rear crush washers from the banjo fitting either dropped into the gravel or was missing when I removed it.
It's an M10 fitting so I went to ECP and picked up some 10mm (inner diameter) copper washers. The OD was larger (maybe 2mm larger overall) but I was in a rush so stuck them on and nipped it up. It appears to have sealed okay but I don't really want to find out that it leaks when hot.
So.... My question is, does the OD really matter provided that the inner diameter is the same? I could easily order some smaller OD washers but I hate being covered in brake fluid and it's cold outside so if I could avoid swapping them over, that would be just dandy.
