I have a Stelvio Quadra, will out perform most sports saloons with 500bhp plus great handling and brakes. Has been great on its PZero's in the warm….however, in the wet / cold it can spin all four wheels when accelerating hard and was as good as useless in the snow as you would expect.

Given its weight I don’t expect / want to drive it near the limit on the road so I am not after 9 or 10/10ths performance, more an all season sports tyre that will deliver traction in our wet / cold winters yet not be too compromised in the summer.

Thanks

Pretty any tyre except PZeros!!

I’ve just swapped 20” Pzeros off my my mild A6 as they were absolute carp in the cold and wet.

Put Good Year Assymetric 2s on them and what a difference.

Toyed between those and Michelin Pilot 4S. Both had similar reviews, but saved £50 per corner with the Good Years

All season - Michelin Cross Climate 2 or Bridgestone Weather Control A005, if available in the sizes for your car.

I always use Uniroyal Rainsports when they're available in the right size. I had them on my ML63 for years and they were great in all conditions and all types of driving. They have little sharks on them too which is cute.

I also use them on my Exige as a daily tyre or wet track tyre and they're great for that too.

The little sharks don't protect you from potholes

Rainsports will be as useless as any modern summer rubber in snow, but unfortunately all seasons options in larger sizes are very limited. If you can't get any your only option for genuine "all weather" usability will be a 2nd set of wheels with winter tyres on.

I have a similar car; an F-Pace SVR and felt all-seasons were a bit of a compromise - more for the winter performance than the summer as you can’t really get near the limit of all-seasons on a public road anyway. Anyway, I’m running Nokian WR4 on it during the winter and the standard Pirelli’s during the summer. The Nokians are excellent and even on a cold, greasy road you can put a lot of power down without any traction lights coming on. They’re also very good in snow!

Any updates on this? I need to replace 22” tyres on a X5 and am thinking of moving to all season tyres. I live in a big city and usually do a spring/summer Euro roadtrip: so whilst the tyres are good for the winter, I want to know what I’m “losing” in the summer.

Just watched the great video below.

Michelin All Season 4 seems to be excellent and can now be bought in the uk from a quick google but sizing may be an issue as still trying to find for the Alfa.

Not sure if those are US only tyres?
Check the UK website to see if they are available here.

If you drive it like a normal person, you'd be losing nothing really.

But equally, if you live mostly in the city, is snow/ice a huge problem ?

I think I'd use them on anything "cooking" from now on, the Vredesteins I used on my shed 208 were absolutely fantastic in the very heavy standing water from this years heavy rain and it was nice to have a bit more grip sub zero mornings too. Ultimate grip is lower but for cars you don't drive past 8/10ths they're great.

I think it's a given that our climate in the UK is going to be a lot more variable, so they make more sense now. I've started noticing them (sad sod that I am) on more and more cars.
