Just dropped my car off for two new tyres. Replacing the fronts, but wanted them put on the back. Asked the guy if he could do that. No, was the response. Reasons given:

a) It's probably TPMS confused (It isn't)
b) I'd have to charge you £7.50 a side (what a rip off)
c) I don't really like doing it
d) I'm sure you're capable

Wtf? Is everywhere like this?

This is Costco's policy, best tyres on the rear.

He can't be 'arrised - extra effort for minimal money. Simples.

Doesn't seem to unreasonable to ask for a little extra to swap wheels. Time is money, even if it's only 5-10 minutes. If its a garage where you're a regular customer that might be a little different.

Pay up or do it yourself. That's my advice.

Minimal fking effort as well, compared to me out with the car on jack stands! He's got a gun to take the wheels off

Yeah the money wasn't that much of a problem, it was more the attitude. Just came across as lazy. If he'd just said "it'll cost you £15" then I probably would've said ok, but he looked like I'd asked him to shove his hand up a cow.

Yeah no need for people to be an ass. Completely agree with you there.

Was told it was going to be about half an hour, they took my phone number. Waited for a call or a text but it never came. After about an hour I wandered back to have a look at what was going on. Car is sat there, all completed, and the guy is just sat there in his car playing on his phone. rolleyes Cheers mate rofl

That is what he was asking them to do.

Replace the fronts & put them on the rear.

Kwikfit charged me £10 plus VAT to swap the tires front to rear, when I asked for the front tyres to be replaced. Thought it was fair, he had to fiddle around with all 4 wheels rather than just the front 2.

I had my fronts done by Protyres recently and asked them to do the same. I had "We don't do that here" and "It will mess up the TPMS".
I'm sure the real reason was "We can't be arsed."
