Where to buy tyres?
Discussion
Always had good service and prices from Asda Tyres and Halfords.
Black Circles have always been more expensive for car tyres although they used to be competitive for motorbike tyres. They also don't have any fitters within a 15 mile radius of me so I don't know whether they aren't great payers or they're going for a more direct model as some Tescos now have BC fitters on-site.

Recently had superb service from Hometyre for supply and fitting on the drive at home.
Competitive price. Helpful sales agents. Friendly fitters. And more so - when they couldn't get the tyres I wanted in a specific size via stock or supplier, were happy for me to order elsewhere for them to fit on the day.

Oponeo or Camskil are consistently cheap, Delticom can be very slow at times, with tyres sometimes coming direct from Europe, so beware of that as they aren’t always that much less than the others.
Costco need to be doing a deal to be cheapest, and have quite a narrow range.
I benefit from a local place that fits up 19” for £10 and £12.50 for bigger ones, if you haven’t got somewhere prepared to fit user supplied tyres it’s a waste of time. I sometimes get a part worn if I’ve had a puncture if I can get an identical one with similar wear so each axle wears evenly, though I only buy newer ones with no repairs that I’ve inspected myself before having fitted, plus my rears are of a size that Michelein are often out of stock on.

What do people think about buying slightly second hand tyres? I've always wondered as they are so much cheaper.
Last resort, as you don’t really know what’s happened to them and I always inspect myself and have had a few full refunds. Never buy one more than 4 years old on the code and never with a previous repair (as good as the repair may be, you didn’t know if was driven on weakening the carcass.Lots of people will say it’s a red flag, but does anyone change all 4 tyres hen they buy a used car?

Depends what tyres are on it, and what condition they're in, and what car they're on.Lots of people will say it’s a red flag, but does anyone change all 4 tyres hen they buy a used car?
If they've got brand new Linglong Premium Endurance Eco tyres on a M3 then they're getting replaced immediately.
If they've got 3 year old PS4S, in very good condition (i.e. no obvious repairs, uneven wear, cracks, chunks out of the rim protector, etc.) on the same car, then they'll stay on until they're worn out.
If it's on a £500 Daewoo Matiz, then I'd be happy if they had 4 of the same model/size of tyre.

As long as they're a decent brand, and not more than 3-4yrs old then I can't see a problem.Just need to be aware that the price of partworns can sometimes be pro-rata to the remaining tread. S if you're keeping the car for the foreseeable then you won't actually save much money.

Find a good local independent tyre shop and ask them to match the online fitted price.
They'll say yes ok.
My opinion as well. My local tyre place have online ordering and the prices are within pennies of the online prices. The one time they were more expensive I phoned and told them so, they matched the price without any prompting. They'll say yes ok.

Not sure what the problem is. I buy secondhand winter tyres all the time. In fact the best time to buy them is in the summer. Many people buy them for the ski season, then find they are not going again or change lease cars so the tyres are no longer compatible. The best thing about second hand tyres are that you can see inside the carcass to see if there are any repairs or damage.
