All Season Tyres vs Summer Tyres (Performance) - Opinions
Discussion
Hey all,
I'll admit, i'm not one of those that regularly swaps out tyres during seasons. I do for track if its a dedicated day/weekend. But other than that i run the same tyre all year round - usually an A-Rated Wet grip performance tyre like a Conti Sport or Michelin Pilot. Those are my go-to's.
You do notice this time of year though that they start to drop off performance wise in anything under 10 degrees. Right now its getting to that time of year and my Conti Sport Contact 7's are starting to feel a bit under grippy - had them for about 5-6k miles. But in the wet especially i can feel the car not quite as grippy up front and i know that with the weather changing, more rain and temps dropping below 10degrees more often. I'm wondering if a good all season tyre would offer better performance?
I've seen the new Cross Climate 3 sports but i'm wondering how they might stack up against a performance orientated summer tyre in that circumstances. Will they offer better performance? Reading up it seems they are A-Rated but distances are less and i like to drive the car hard all year round. No denying that. Its a heavy 4wd car with other 400hp.
Wondering what the opinions are ? Cheers in advance.
