Steering wheel hub adapter question
Discussion
I couldn't find a good forum for this, but it's pretty close!
Because I don't fit properly in the car, being 6 foot 2" and all, I'm looking to put a smaller steering wheel on my Merc, specifically an Isotta Strada:
The only problem is, the supplier only has Isotta hub adapters that are the shiny polished bling-metal variety. Naturally, this would look rubbish in an old Mercedes.
However, some boss adapters claim to work for multiple brands of wheel, such as this momo:
www.motorspeed.com/store_main.asp?int_catalog_id=4&int_category_id=16&int_subcategory_id=71&int_product_id=606
which apparently works with an Isotta steering wheel.
How can this work? Can bosses work with steering wheels from the wrong manufacturer? Wouldn't all the holes line up incorrectly?
I have no experience in this field (can you tell?) so any help would be appreciated.. also if anyone knows a good place to buy such an item it would be great!
thanks
Russell
