CV joint replacement Audi A4????? Help perlease!!!
Discussion
Please advise. Car failed MOT due to split CV Boot. CV boot replaced car passed MOT. Loud clunking on breaking, accelerating, steering. Looked up on internet and am sure it due to CV joint becoming dirty/worn prior to MOT. - The clunking had been ignored by the wife for about a month!!
Now - can get CV joint replacement on e bay for about 26 quid inc.postage. Should i risk changing just the outer joint or should i change the whole axle assembly with inner and outer joints?
The inner boot had not split and was not a part of the MOT failure.
Cheers for any help

If it was me, I'd replace the entire half shaft, inner and outer joint. Depending on the car it's sometimes cheaper and your already there so how much harder is it once you have the half shaft separated from the steering knuckle to then separate it from the trans.
Alot of times it's just easier to do the whole shaft.
