Wheel widths and tyre widths.
Discussion
Can someone tell me where there might be a guide on the net,so that i can see which is the best rim width and tyre width combo's please?I need to know the ideal rim width if i want to run a 225 or 215 tyre on a 17" wheel.I cant choose 1/2" sizes,so would i be better with an 8 or a 7" rim?

As a rough guide, the tread should be about the same width as the rim. Road tyre widths are usually measured at the shoulder which is typically about an inch wider that the tread, so convert your tyre width to inches, take off an inch, that's a starting point for the rim width. But the tyre manufacturer will probably have far more accurate guidelines to offer.
Have a butchers with this page. Its abit cluttered but theres one to do what you want.
