4 wheel alignment incorrectly set my Camber
Discussion
Hello
I have a BMW 730d sport - E65. Today I took it for a 4 wheel alignment check [laser type] to the place I use regularly [ish]. I had it checked in Oct 07 and then again today because I recently changed a track control arm [right side or drivers] and front tyres. In Oct 07 they found my tracking to be out on the right side and again today as expected - ok that’s fine I thought it would be.
Today they also told me the Camber was out on the left side. I made a point of going out to talk to the 'technician'. I explained that I had changed a track control arm and that the car was aligned in Oct by them and at that time the Camber was all fine. He just gave me a blank look and directed my attention to the computer which said it was out and asked me if I wanted this adjusting. I said yes of course I want it correct.
So now I have returned home and checked my paperwork it seems they have made a mistake. The Oct paperwork lists my car as a sport and today it lists it as standard.
The main difference I see is the recommended Camber settings which should be as follows:
Sport -0.50 to -0.10
Standard -0.26 to +0.14
My car was:
Left -0.38
Right -0.06
and is now set with:
Left -0.09
Right -0.01
Do I just go back and complain?
What effect will the Camber have on the car?
