Servicing shock absorbers

I was just wondering what this process involves, is it difficult and does it require any special equipment?

It varies according to the construction (and some are simply not serviceable, of course!).

If you're interested, Penske do very comprehensive manuals for their dampers as freely downloadable pdf's here
