Anyone know where I can buy blank brake discs so that I can drill to my own stud pattern.
Thanks Chaps

You'd have to get ones with the right diameter, thickness, centre bore and (not sure of the correct wording so excuse the potentially-rude guess) bell height. What are you after these for exactly? It might be best looking for 2-piece ones from a custom brake kit supplier such as HiSpec Motorsport (only company I could think of off the top of my head, but I've heard a few tales of woe regarding them in the past). With a bit of luck you could match a set of bells and rotors that would do the trick.

Its a longish story. I have a Marcos which is origionaly fitted with GT6 brakes. I bought an upgrade of a chap who said 'this is what all the triumph GT6 race boys do' It consisted of 2 Compbrake calipers and 2 x 2.8 Capri discs. The hieght of the disc is higher than that of the Triumph and therefor hits the trackrod end so put spacers in the steering arms. Then the caliapers would not centre so put spacers in to move the calipers back. However the pads sit over the top of the discs and at some point will meet and I will have no brakes, if that makes sense.
I have, after lot of searching found that the discs of a Pug 206cc are the correct hight and diameter and all that will need to be done is opening the centre up by 1mm and then redrilling for the correct PCD.
Its been a real pain in the backside.
Thanks

You can redrill the disc quite easily by just moving 45 degrees from the original hole pattern.

Remember you would have to do this each time you replace the discs. If you're expecting to keep the car for any significant time it would most likely work out cheaper to get separate bells and rotors to give you the right dimensions. Or simply get a set of brakes the right size that actually fit your hubs rather than these ones which plainly don't.

The changes you have made to make those original discs fit sound absolutely terrifying to me, I think you have already figured out that is not a good way to go.

The usual thing for a GT6 is to fit vented Capri discs (properly drilled to fit the hubs) and a spacer kit for the original Type 16 Girling calipers. I can't see any reason this wouldn't work on a Marcos. Talk to Canley Classics www.canleyclassics.com

Speak to Compbrake yes They can supply a set of Powervane rotors and aluminium bells made to suit. All you do when the rotors wear is bolt new ones on to the aluminium bells.

Mine, a few weeks ago when they were bench testing them.

ETA:

Sounds like you need a new mounting bracket for the calipers as well to do the job correctly yes Compbrake did all my work and measuring so when I got it back I knew the solution was right.

Thanks for all the info chaps. I have been onto Compbrake and spoken with a chap called Steve, he has the patience of a saint when dealing with people like me and was prepared to talk through details in a 'simple non technical speak'
Thanks
