skimming brakes - staines?
Discussion
the best way to skim discs is on the hub, using a brake lathe/refinisher, the only one I know of is in Chelsea at a Porsche specialist... Chelsea Carrera. I saw it there a couple of years back, they use it to true up discs before fitting new pads, reduces bed in time and squeal/judder issues. I flogged them thier A/C service machine

not experienced it myself, however I have heard some favourable reports, with the discs refaced on the hub, any minor warping and ridges are taken out, effevtively giving a "new" face for the pads, hence the bedding in period is shorter, also the new pads last longer as they are working over thier whole surface rather than on a few high points. Definately worth doing on expensive set ups, a bit pointless on a low end car where the discs are only £20 a pair (standard aftermarket fare).
This arrangement isn't for taking off half inch lips on totally shagged discs by the way!!
