Hi I have just split a Brembo 2 pot caliper. Can anyone tell me why the two pistons are different sizes ? Also which is the leading and which is trailing piston ?

Thanks

Sam

I think the theory is that the leading edge of the pad "digs in" more to the disc, so the trailing piston is larger in order to even up the wear, and improve efficiency I suppose.

Gareth is spot on. It is to prevent taper wear on the pads. The smaller piston is the leading as the front edge of the pad gets dragged onto the disc.
