Rear Brake Callipers Problem
Discussion
Dear PistonHead Technical Experts
I have a little non-standard problem and could do with some help to get me out of an embarassing "hole" of my own making.
I bought a superb boat from the US and had it shipped over on a new boat trailer since that was a whole lot cheaper than a container. I spent a while negotiating to make sure that the trailer was fitted to connect to a 50mm ball and had made it clear it was for use in the UK. What I failed to do was to specify that it had to be to EU regulations. When it arrived I discovered it had no handbrake which it needs to be legal here. The other bits and bobs are not difficult to add.
So, I am looking to replace the hydraulic brake callipers with a set that also includes levers for activation by a parking brake (i.e. a standard calliper for rear disc brakes).
The disc rotor is vented, 10" in diameter, 24.2mm thick and stands 9.8.mm off the mounting plate.
Does anybody know the spec of callipers that would fit? The mounting plate is not that critical, but the rotor diameter and thickness are "givens".
I look forward to your suggestions.
Regards
Pete
