Pagid Discs and Brakes

Just about to get my 06 Polo Gti serviced at VW as i have been offered a good deal and would ideally like to keep the stamps from VW going as am selling in the next 6 months. Ive got a good friend who is a mechanic so im looking at getting him to do a few bits and bobs for me which i know the dealers will point out and then charge me double the fair rate. My mate is on a rally at the moment and i was looking after getting some pads and discs for the front corners. I've searched on a few websites and the biggest recommendation is to buy Pagid discs and Brakes. So my question is would these be an ideal choice? or would there be a better option for my car? I did try and use the search but as per usual it isn't working! Thanks in advance
