Reading the spray paint tin it says:
"Apply 3 coats allowing 20 mins between coats, allow the final coat todry for 30 mins and then apply 3 coats of lacquer."

Reading the spray Lacquer tin:
"Allow the paint 24 hrs to dry, then rub down with 1200 wet and dry. Then wash with warm soapy water, then apply 3 coats of Lacquer"

So the question is which method do I use or does it not really matter.

HI If you wait 24 hrs and wet flat the paint it is wrong as you should not touch the base paint before lacquering.
When using base paint and clear coat, i usually wait for 20-30 mins before starting the top coat thus allowing a bond between the layers otherwise the top coat will lift in the future.
Hope this helps Graeme

The second statement sounds better as it will give the lacquer something to bond to. 1200 sounds a bit course though!

On a side note, try putting the lacquer cans in some warm water for half an hour before using. This prevents blobs.

Just done a similar thing a few times and to be honest I tried both methods...

In the month since I did it it seems to have made sod all difference... However, time will tell...
