Detailing Engine bay of 1995 E220 advice
Discussion
Hi,
I have had fantastic results in the past (mainly with BMW's) using the following method.
Obviously you must avoid getting too much water in the electrics, so covering fuse boxes & ECU's etc up might be a good idea. You could use plastic bags and elastic bands.
Think about drainage as well, because the dirt, oil etc which comes off can leave quite a mess on the driveway!!
A quick silicone spray finish to the rubbers and plastics once dry really finish things off ;0)

- Run the engine till its nice and warm, and leave running.
- Spray entire engine, bay and surrounding areas with TFR - Traffic Film Remover (general de-greasing agent)
- Jet Wash until clean and all de-greaser has been removed.
- Leave engine running until it appears dry, then take for a drive to remove any remaining water.

- And don't forget to re-grease all the required areas afterwards such as the bonnet catch and hinges!!
