Ok, never done this before. If someone could take the time to go through the steps taken to clean the engine bay safely it would be much appreciated. I have been detailing bits here and there but have got to the stage where I would like the whole thing looking A* rather than tube here and a cover there!

Cover battery terminals (not with tinfoil!), fuse box, air filter (if exposed induction variety), and altenator.
Reduce pressure when rinsing with the power hose.
Use Bilt Hamber Surfex HD and soft brush to work 10-20% solution strength into the various parts.
Rinse thoroughly and dry, then use 303 Aerospace Protectant on all the plastics.
