I have had my car badly wrapped, and during some investigation, removing wrap from inside a door shut, have found that at least 3 different types of vinyl have been used, one has been identified as possibly 3m due to the textured backing, and the other two are so far unknown. Is it usual to mix and match the vinyl, or is it something a bodger would do if they ran out of vinyl, and wanted to use other vinyl they had lying around.

Thanks for any thoughts on this.

Picture ilustrates two of the 3 types of vinyl found. The backing in the lower left I think is 3M, but the backing next to it is unknown.

Very difficult to tell from the picture, but yes, the wrapping should be consistent.

Have you got differing colours on the exterior of the car or is it peeling?

Can you post who wrapped it?

No, it's not normal to use different types of vinyl, as all makes behave differently and are a slightly different shade. The grey/ textured backing certainly looks like 3M 85 series vehicle wrap..
