In what order do I apply these?
Discussion
Hey
Just got a Black FTO and I want to spend the day cleaning it.
So these are the products I have and the order I would apply them:
1)Turtle Wax - Zip Wax - Two bucket wash
2)T-Cut for Black cars.
3)G3 Professional Paint Renovator
4)AutoGlym Super Resin Polish.
For Tyres/Rubber, I use Turtle-Wax - Wet'n'Black.
Are these the right steps?

Hi Wolfy
You seem to have a wash stage and then three polish / correction stages planned there and I can't imagine that's necesary.
The three products you mention other than the wash, are all polishing / correction type products and will all be performing the same task to varying degrees. The correct way to use them would be to use them in order of their cutting properties, starting with the most agressive and moving through to the least aggressive. But I would strongly urge you not to go ahead with all of them.
In all honesty, I can't really say for sure because I haven't seen the vehicle, but I would seriously doubt that using all those products would be a good idea - especially as Japanese cars tend to have pretty soft paint compared to others.
In addition to this, as stated above, there should also be a protection stage (more so than what SRP will offer) at the end to finish the job off properly. If you need some proper protection products let me know - mates rates for fellow PHers!

I would skip the T-Cut as its too aggressive imho. The G3 is only really worth using with a Rotary polisher or DA. If those are all the products you have then I would just wash and then apply the SRP. That contains fillers which will mask any minor defects in your paintwork. If you want to improve the longevity of the SRP then get some AG Extra Gloss Protection which you can apply over the top of the SRP.
However there are a lot of products on the market which will perform better than any of the above. But its really up to how far you want to go?

If you've got the time proper way to do it is
1. 2 bucket wash
2. Clay the car
3. Apply polish (as previously mentioned you have 3 of them), these essentially take a small layer of the clear coat off the car
4. Apply wax or sealant (I personally prefer sealant, check out Zaino Z-2 and us it with Z-6), this will protect the finish
If you were going to apply the 3 polishes you'll get much better finish and protect your car if you follow above. Hope it helps
