So, picking up the new company car on Thursday, gorgeous BMW Ruby Black - same colour as this:

I've got a various selection of stuff including clay, polish, DAS6 machine but presumably all a new car should need is a good wash and then sealant/wax?

If so, would AG ERP following by HD wax be good on such a dark colour? I have all day thursday so can do several coats. These guys are local to me and carry decent stock so happy to try some new stuff out: http://www.elitecarcare.co.uk/

Any recommendations on what sealant and wax to use on a brand new car with this paint? Or am I missing a trick for other things I can do except sealant and wax?

Cheers

A combination to start with would be AG srp followed by a protective layer. EGP under HD wax will be fine though for durability and a better look from an aesthetic's point of view use AG srp and Collinite 845. You will find that near all brand new cars are dreadful when it comes to over all finish so once youve washed / clayed etc a polish / cleanser step will be needed for certain prior to protection.

i would use a decent glaze to add depth to the shine, something like G2 from Gtechnique which will banish holograms etc, or Blackhole by Poorboys. Red Mousse Glaze made by Clearkote is also highly recommended.

So far as waxes go I would highly recommend Gtechnique C1, Swisswax products or Dodo Juice hard waxes for a black car.

Ignoring all the usual AG-SRP-HD-super wax rubbish, check out Glare UK, its a fantastic sealant that will actually last as long as you own the car, its glass-plexin which is unique to Glare and unlike all waxes it wont diminish over time/in sunlight. Well worth checking out. It will improve on your showroom finish!
