Hi oh great and wise PH community.

Due to the nice weather I was out cleaning my wife's car and thought I would go the full hog and get out the clay-bar and wax. I knew there had been some spray work on half of the bonnet but never paid much attention to it.
Now I have been polishing and looking closely at it, it's as dull as fcensoredk and you can clearly see the line where the new Lacquer stops.

I was wondering if I got some Tcut or similar and try to polish the crap out of it, am I going to get any where or should I just live with it. You can only see it in certain light and when its clean.

Would like the bonnet re spraying but can not justify the expense.

PS don't have any machines so would be doing it by hand.

Just after your opinion if it would be worth it.

Thanks

Andy

Direct and bright sunlight will show up any fade out marks on the bonnet quite clearly which is probably why you have only just noticed it. I wouldnt go too far with the polishing as chances are you will wear through the lacquer before any noticeable difference, drop into your local bodyshop or smartrepairer and ask them to have a go at tidying it up, shouldnt charge you much and if they are a decent bunch will probably just do it for free (no work in a quick polish really) smile I wouldnt ask a detailer to do it, detailers and painters are not the same!

Hope this helps

Thanks very much for the info, I will have a look around here to see what body shops there are and give them a call.

Take that t-cut and chuck it in the bin,it contains ammonia and should be nowhere near a modern paint finish, good for cellulose and nothing else.

A bodyshop will run the mop over that for you in 20 minutes, problem sorted I'd imagine

Based in Northampton.
Not sure if this would polish up, you can definitely see where the laquer has been sprayed on one side and the join stands out like a Bulldogs Bcensoredcks.

Just don't have the coin to get the bonnet re sprayed, frown and it is only a run around.
