Hiding Scratches!
Discussion
My shed, Passat B5 Estate has a supermarket trolley scratch (6 inches) and a metre long scratch courtesy of a Brighton fan's key outside Selhurst Park! They are both deep (down to the primer) and as the car is dark blue they really notice. Now, Im not too bothered about removing them, its my shed remember, I just want to know what's the best way of turning the scratch back to to/or nearer the colour of the rest of the car.

A decent machine polisher will not remove the scratches (obviously), but they can round off the edge of the scratch. This reduces light reflecting from the edges thus minimising the severity of the scratch slightly.
I've got a rotary polisher and various Maguiars Pro polishes but want something that will darken/fill the scratch so the primer cant easily be seen.Lordbenny said:

There isn't a magic product. The 'something' you need to darken/fill the scratch so the primer can't easily be seen is called paint.
And there really is only two ways of applying it.
It's either touch up paint applied by hand - but on a scratch that long and deep it will show up and look like a naff job.
Or get it sprayed properly.
