Carbon fibre Splitter scratches

Hello Chaps, I have some scuffs on the carbon fibre splitter that look quite horrible to me, I am not too concerned with replacing it a the moment as all the speed bumps around here mean the odd scratch and scuff is inevitable, my question to you lot is, what could I do to just get the scuffs down to grey/black? can you use wet and dry to smooth it off?

For a quick fix smooth it off with 600 wet and dry ,then 1200,then lacquer it (spray can is fine) most of the marks will disappear.
