Afternoon all. Looking to get a chip repair kit to touch up some chips on the front of my Clio Cup, done a Google search and loads come up. CHIPEX seems very easy to use and lots of recommendations on their website

Just wondered if anyone on here had any experience of CHIPEX kits or any other such kits?

I bought a Chippex kit on the recommendation of a colleague who by his own admissions is not the most delicate of people when it comes to this sort of thing but even he managed to get a decent finish with it. I was very impressed with the colour match of mine (Lotus Carlton so VERY hard to match) & worth a punt. Have a look around bank holiday time as I got a 20% discount at the last bank holiday offer.

Scratches are difficult to do. But i watched the guy that does all of Tom Hartley's cars (if you don't know who Tom Hartley is checkout his website). His method is great just needs loads of patience.

Small bottle of correct colour paint with the finest brush you can find. Spot a very small amount into chip / scratch and leave alone. go back when dry and repeat. go back again etc. leave alone. when just below good paint surface, build up as before but using clear laquer. Build up to above surface level and when hardened off flat back using micro mesh. Polish and hey presto, good as new or nearly. Looks easy but I found it a very difficult job, better than i've ever done before with sticks etc but not a cheap fix. cost about 25 quid for all the bits instaed of 5 or 6 for a colourstick. Worth it though
