Hi All just bought a 2nd hand Picasso in red, (02 plate) body work is in good nick apart from a few light scratches, cant feel with finger nail etc, would t cut be a good bet, just to gently rub and remove the marks, eg under the door handles several light scratches, dont want to spend a fortune, just want a good quality product, im also thinking of just doing the scratches rather than whole panels etc?

any advice greatly received

thanks Rob

T-cut may do it but if not a good cutting compound like Farecla G3 or 3M green top will do it, you may also need to flat the scratches out with a 1500 or 2000 wet and dry before compounding.

Hi Thanks for the reply, I'm a complete novice when it comes to the paintwork, will wet and dry damage the lacquer etc.?I'm hoping not to end up with some areas that look better than others on the same panel if that makes sense

Hi Rob, No wet and dry is used to flat out the scratches in the lacquer, once you have flatted them out you then need to buff the area with a polishing mop using the cutting compound to get it back to a proper shine. Try the T-cut route first because if they are really fine scratches you may get away with not needing to flat the area!
