Can someone shed some light please. I notice that there are some products for marine gel coats... are theses the same as that on cars.

Is 'gel coat gel coat' and if so, what makes more sense to use; a polish specifically for gel coat or one for paint?

Confused.

I suspect marine gel coats are those used specifically designed and used in boat building, which I suspect are different from automotive gel coats.

If you're talking about polishing products for a car - if your car is painted then use a polish for paint, if your car is fibreglass and is not painted use a gel coat polish - marine or automotive won't make any difference. A marine one might be cheaper.
