Looking at doing some small body work repairs on my car, always used a rattle can in the past but decided to take the plunge as its a bigger area to paint and go for a spray gun and compressor.

Does anyone have any recommendations on a starter kit, I won't be doing loads of painting so don't want to spend ££££.

Any links would be much appreciated.

Unless you are doing a substantial area then you'll find a gun a faff. They take ages to clean, for most areas I use rattle cans. Warm the can & panel & I can get a gun finish. The rattle cans you buy these days have a good quality of paint in as well. And yes I have a compressor & probably 4-5 guns/airbrushes!

Whilst the area isn't massive:
Boot trim panel
Inner arches
Sill
Bottom of doors

I just feel that painting with rattle cans may not be the best approach....

Looking for advice here tho so if people think I'm wrong please say!

I'd go with rattle cans personally.
