Painting a fiber glass car

My quantum kit car will be coming of th e road in novembre and part of the plans are to respray it the red gel coat has seen better days. So ive painted several steel bodied cars and just finished painting my exocet frame in a metalic gold with this decided to have a go at painting the quantum.

Am planing to go for a mat black with a ghosted strip over it so before i start any tips on painting fiberglass what's best and what's to be avoided any advice is much appreciated.
