Paint cracking on an old repair
Discussion
My passenger door was bashed and repaired at an approved bodyshop around 3.5 years ago. I claimed on my insurance at the time.
Anyway the paint on the area on the door is now starting to crack with fine long lines of around 4-5 inches showing.
Is this common? Should I go back to the repairer?
Any advice welcome. Thanks

3.5 years later ? I doubt the bodyshop will care.
You need to find out why its cracked.. typically its because there is filler under there that has shrunk, this is more likely if there is a wodge of filler under there.
3.5 years is a long time so I would rule out any sort of reaction/non adherence of paint but I guess its possible.
Find a decent body shop that will take out whats there and make good.

Go back to your insurer at the time.
Whether they do anything about it or not after the elapsed time is debatable & will depend on the warranty given - 'lifetime' warranties appear to be all the rage now as a quick google will show you - but if you don't ask you don't get.
