Hi,

I'm picking up a stainless Rollcage for my car, but I really don't like the brushed/polished stainless look. I'd much rather have it in a satin or gloss black to match the rest of the car.

I have been lead to believe that painting stainless is not a simple job and that it is not a simple job for a regular bodyshop. Is this true?

How easy would it be to do it myself and end up with a half decent job?

Thanks in advance.

It would need etched, primed, painted and cleared, no reason you cant DIY if you fancy, alternatively have you thought of having it powder coated?

Thanks. Sounds like a lot of work.

I'll see if I can find a powder coaters locally. Thanks for the tip.

Jack- I looked into this too and concluded too much hassle.

However, one subsequent thought that I did not investigate at the time. Get it wrapped? Any sign writer ought to be able to do it. Might it get scratched fitting it then? Guess that depends on who is doing it!
