How to fix grazed/scored paint?
Discussion
So like a t
t I managed to reverse into someone yesterday. Very low speed so no damage other than that the paintwork on both bumpers is grazed/scored - best way I can word is is there's an area a couple of foot wide on each rear bumper that has a load of small cm or so vertical scratches which is probably more from the dirt on both cars grinding IYSWIM.
I've just had a go at it by hand with some SRP and Scratch Remover and it make it a little easier on the eye but isn't removing it.
I do have a machine polisher but my suspicion is that this needs "flattening" by wet sanding or something more harsh than a machine will do, that I daren't attempt (I do have a Cyclo style rotary and orange and green pads).
I know there's quite a few detailers in my area, just fishing for some advice on next steps and whether this is overkill and I should just nip down a local body shop?
