I recently used my Estate car to take some old, wet and smelly carpet to the tip. Despite lining the boot with plastic bags some water got onto the boot carpet and now the car has a lovely garbage smell.

Can anyone recoment a method of cleaning the carpet? It's too big for a washing machine and I don't have a carpet cleaner.

If it has sank into the carpet good and proper then the only thing that will remove the smell is a steam clean to kill the bacteria then a wet n dry carpet cleaner. Anything else is pissing in the wind.

Remember the odour is from any enzymes still present. Basic 'off the shelf' cleaners will NOT remove these and you need a more serious product such as Enzyme eater by Valet Pro....available from cleanyourcar.co.uk
