Does Red Audi Paint Still Fade?
Discussion
Hi Paint Boffins,
During my youth I owned 3 red cars: 1 Ford & 2 Audi's. All of which faded to a matt pink resulting me having to spend hours waxing them. Forward to now and my wife is starting her own business (mobile skincare, if anyone would like a facial or their winkles worked on!) and I've seen a Red Audi A4 for sale. She loves red and the car looks ace however, I have no desire to go back to waxing. Have times changed now? Surely they're invented red paint that stays red? The car is an 2005 Audi A4. Can you please advise?

OK Kidders, cheers for that. I realise that how the car is looked after has a bearing on it but in your opinion what kind of age car is in the danger zone for fading. I mean is 10 years realistic for a modern red car to hold it's colour?
On an Audi yes, the standard and quality of their paint is a notch up from more mainstream stuff like Ford and Vauxhall. The only time you would notice is if it needed any paintwork doing. In my experience red always looks very bright at first before after a week of UV exposure it tones down. Its not really a problem like it used to be.Gassing Station | Bodywork & Detailing | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
