Karcher 520M problem

While washing the car this morning all of a sudden the lance lost its efficiency.
Shall try and explain, at full pressure its usually a long one foot wide stream of water with decent pressure behind it.
Now the angle has widened and length of the stream has drastically shortened.
Also noticed, when I change the bar setting on the lance it stays on the same setting of 70 bar.
Any idea what is wrong as do not want to go spend lots of cash on something ( new lance or hand gun) which might not be the cause.

More basic example of a similar problem - mine has lost all power. Looks like the pump has let go. Or could it be a simple fuse problem? Anyone have an idea if it is bin it and buy a new one, or get it fixed?

Well, had a go yesterday at cleaning a couple of parts as have never descaled any of it in about 6 years or more of ownership.
Motor sounded OK so had to be the lance or gun, put a needle in the lance in case it was clogged.
The major clogging was the water filter, this is located where the water hose is connected to.
Plenty of water scale, cleaned that all off and it is now working fine.
