Has anybody seen any wheels in Shadow Chrome finish but using a different dark colour instead of the gun metal or equivalent colour?.

Yup. Looked superb on a pale blue Tuscan.

IMO, certain bright car colours suit black wheels, eg orange, lime green, brighter reds, yellow, and of course black. I don't think they suit white cars, but don't mind if you think otherwise.
For all other shades, I love the current greys, and am just about to tone down the silver 12 spoke wheels on my darkish blue TVR by using shadow chrome or one shade darker. Generalising, the lighter the colour of the car, the darker the grey needs to be.
I saw three TVR Tuscans last Saturday in the workshops, all with grey wheels. Shadow Chrome on a mid grey car, darker grey on a pale blue car, and I cannot remember the other one! All looked good. I kept looking at all three and trying to decide what to put on mine, and preferred darker than shadow chrome.

Can the dark colour be other than grey?. Possibly a red, blue and green for example?, not all together.

Don't see why not - just need to find the paint.
Thinking about it, my starmist blue car might look rather good with the wheels the same colour. I painted the roll cage in Starmist Blue, rather than boring old matt black.
