Sorry chaps, muppet here.
Took my car on an airfield track day last summer, was warned to tape the front end as it was an operational air base, and known to be stony. Didn't bother. Got about 100 stone chips on the front of my pride and joy.
TVR in their wisdom used a white primer over fibreglass and under dark blue paint, and it's really soft too. So it chips easily and the chips show badly.
I have done another one of the same, and as of last night the front of my car had about 300 stone chips. And looked a right mess.
So I thought sod it, got out my spray touch up paint, and sprayed it. Then got out the lacquer and lacquered it. Both nice and even, no runs, but...........

I know that the only true solution is a front end respray, and will have it done over the Winter.

Until then is there any way of getting more shine into the finish? It looks a bit matt at the moment. Still looks better than with all the stone chips.

Use a polishing compound like Farecla G3 followed by G10. A buffer/polisher would make live easy but as said if the paint is thin don't get carried away, a few passes of each should be enough.

Thanks - I tried just G10 compound, but my elbow ran out of grease first. I will get some G3. I don't have a buffer. Can I use an eclectic drill with a buffing pad?
